Define the wearing format
In-ear, semi-in-ear, clip-on and open-ear products serve different users. Fit affects comfort, passive isolation, bass response and microphone position, so the form factor should be confirmed before comparing secondary features.
Test calls in realistic conditions
Chipset names and microphone counts are not a substitute for a call test. Evaluate speech in a quiet room, beside traffic and in moderate wind. Check how quickly the microphone recovers when the user starts speaking and whether the opposite party hears pumping or metallic artefacts.
Read the battery claim correctly
Separate single-charge playback from total playback with the case. Confirm the test volume, codec and whether active noise cancellation is enabled. The case capacity, charging input and indicator behaviour should be listed independently.
Confirm controls and compatibility
Test pairing, reconnection, left/right independent use, touch controls, voice assistant and game mode where offered. If an application is included, check operating-system versions, language coverage and whether the branding can be customized.
Approve the complete package
The final sample review should include earbuds, case, cable, ear tips, manuals, inserts and retail box. Photography and published specifications must describe the approved combination rather than a similar visual sample.
